Isaac Cook Old Boston Brewery Factory
This arguably is the most graphic Boston brewery factory scene ever produced. It is from a very obscure Boston brewery, Isaac Cook & Co. There is very little known to survive from this small brewery. This is an early lithograph, likely dating to the 1870s or early 1880s. It advertises Stock Ales and gives the address: "Depot 256 Central St. Boston, Mass" This early lithograph was done by stamping the paper with several stones, each of which put down one color. The image was built up in this way. This lithograph was stamped with all of the colors (Red, Blue, Green, Brown, White, Orange) except for black. The image is wonderful as-is and the upside of this is that the price is a small fraction of what one of the 2 known complete examples would bring. The condition is outsanding...no cropping, nominal toning, no tears, no stains...very clean. I'm aware of one other example of this litho that is more incomplete (missing at least 2 colors).
