Mule Head Non-OI NL

Fascinating can. I was at a very small show in CT a few weeks ago and a walk-in had this can in a brown bag. I was stunned to see it's the non-OI version. I'm aware of only one other example of this can and it's in lesser condition. It's interesting that it's a patents pending can with the 10 A (open tail fish) canning code. This puts the can at about 1936. If you look at the two Mule Head Beers in Lilek's book, you'll notice one of the instructional cans is patents pending and one of them has two patents, others pending. My best guest/inference is that this can precedes both of the instructionals. Perhaps American Can Co. brought it to the attention of Wehle that the instructions on cans shouldn't be abandoned after just one year of instructions on the Ale can. Who knows...but definitely an interesting can.
